Safety experts recommend most struts need to be replaced between 40,000 - 50,000 miles. But, depending on what kind of driving you do, they can wear out sooner. Bumpy roads or over-enthusiastic driving in your Saturn Aura can accelerate how fast this happens.

You want to be safe when your out on the road and you want to be comfortable too, so it's really important to inspect your shock absorbers once a year or every 12,000 miles. Worn struts are not only uncomfortable, but can also be dangerous.

The most noticeable advantage of a strut is that they work hand in hand with the springs to "absorb" many of the road bumps and in return you get a smoother ride.
