95-96 Lincoln Continental Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1.    I have completed the wiring procedure and now my power steering is not working properly, what is the problem?

Answer:
You will need to check the ground on the light green wire with the black stripe, in some cases you may have to run a wire from the ground side of the battery to this wire.

2.    I have completed the wiring procedure, why is the warning light still on?

A
nswer:  Go back and review the wiring procedure.  We sell hundreds of these kits every month and when followed correctly the warning light will be eliminated.

3.    Why is there a chirping noise coming from the top of the strut after I completed the front installation?

Answer:
In some cases, the bearings must wear in.  By spraying WD-40 into the bearing plate you should take care of the problem until the spring seats.

4.    Why is there a chirping noise coming from the top of the spring I installed on the front of my vehicle?

Answer:
As with the bearings the springs may have to seat.  Spray them with WD-40 at the top of the springs and this should eliminate the chirping until the spring seats completely.

5.    I have installed the front kit only, why are the rear air springs extended and the rear of the car sitting up too high?

Answer:
Proper installation of the front kit will have no effect on rear suspension of the vehicle.  You should check all electrical connections in the rear, insure the ride height sensors have power to them, and normally you will find there is a problem with the rear air suspension.

6.    Why is my car sitting high after installation?

Answer:
Like all new springs they will take just a little while to settle, and the vehicle will drop down to the proper ride height.

7.    If I installed a two wheel kit only (front or rear) why wont the compressor run to the remaining two corners of the vehicle?

Answer:

Sometimes people forget to turn the system back on.  If your system is on then you should check to be sure that the fuse hasn’t blown.

smooth ride and easy installation May 19, 2009

I am the service manager at The Wright Import in Cumming, Georgia. We recently bought a set of struts from you to replace air bags on a Lincoln Continental. I was really impressed with the smooth ride and easy installation of these struts.
