Getting Started

  1. Read general service precautions
  2. Wear Eye Protection
  3. Support the vehicle
  4. Remove air suspension parts
  5. Install conversion kit
  6. Disable the ride control light

Tools needed for installation:

  • Metric socket set
  • Floor Jack
  • Jack Stands
  • Metric Wrench Set
  • Wire Cutter/Stripper/Crimping Tool
  • Level Work Surface
  • Spring Compressor (If Applicable)
  • Allen Wrenches
  • Screw Drivers (Phillips and Flat-Head)

Front Strut Removal InstructionsStep 1

Caution: A sudden release of pressure may cause personal injury or damage to the vehicle. The air suspension system is under pressure until the air supply lines are disconnected. Use the following precautions when servicing the air suspension system: Wear gloves, ear protection, and eye protection. Wrap a clean cloth around the air supply lines. The vehicle must be raised to perform this conversion! Use proper lifting equipment only! Read instructions carefully before attempting installation, if you have problems during the install then feel free to call our Technical Support Line. Please before calling for technical help, have your invoice handy.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the front wheels.
  4. Remove the union bolts from the caliper.
  5. Remove the clamp securing the brake hose to the strut.
  6. Disconnect the brake hose. (Cap the brake hose to prevent brake fluid from leaking).
  7. Scribe an alignment mark on the camber adjusting bolt.
  8. Remove strut-to-housing bolts.
  9. Remove ABS sensor bolts (if equipped).
  10. Disconnect the air line from the solenoid valve.
  11. Unplug solenoid valve connector.
  12. Remove the strut cap.
  13. Remove the upper strut mount nuts and front strut assembly.

Front Conversion Kit Installation InstructionsStep 2

  1. Torque specifications:
    • Strut-to-housing bolts: 98 - 119 ft.lbs.
    • Upper strut mount nuts: 10 - 19 ft. lbs.
    • ABS sensor bolts: 15 - 29 ft. lbs.
    • Wheel lug nuts: 58 - 72 ft. lbs.
  2. Install the strut into the top mount and secure with the mount nuts loosely.
  3. Install the lower strut mount into the spindle and reinstall bolts and nuts.
  4. Reinstall ABS sensor bolts and brake hoses.
  5. Reinstall the union bolts to the caliper.
  6. Replace the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground; tighten the top strut and mount nuts and replace the strut cap.
  7. You will no longer use the air lines, tie them back up and out of the way.

Front Conversion Kit installation now complete.

Rear Air Strut Removal InstructionsStep 3

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Note: Ensure that the rear suspension is unloaded.
  3. Remove the rear wheels.
  4. Disconnect the brake line from the caliper (Cap the brake line to prevent brake fluid from leaking).
  5. Remove the stereo speaker cover from the upper side of the rear quarter trim panel.
  6. Remove the strut-to-housing bolts, see Fig 1.
  7. Remove the rear solenoid valve from the rear suspension assembly.
  8. Disconnect the air line from the solenoid valve.
  9. Pull out vehicle height sensor harness through access hole.
  10. Disconnect the coupler.
  11. Remove the rear strut from the body.

Rear Conversion Kit Installation InstructionsStep 4

  1. Torque specs:
    • Strut-to-housing bolts: 98-119 ft.lbs.
    • Upper strut mount nuts: 10-19 ft.lbs.
    • Wheel lug nuts: 58-72 ft.lbs.
  2. You will no longer use the air lines, tie them back up out of the way.
  3. Install the strut into the top strut housing and secure with nuts loosely.
  4. Install the lower strut mount to spindle and reinstall mounting bolts.
  5. Reconnect the brake line to the caliper.
  6. Replace the rear wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten top strut mounting bolts.
  7. Replace the stereo speaker cover to trim panel.

Conversion Kit installation now complete.
