1997-2000 Ford F-250 parts included in this kit:

Getting Started

  1. Disconnect Battery
  2. Read general service precautions
  3. Wear Eye Protection
  4. Support the vehicle
  5. Remove air suspension parts
  6. Install conversion kit

Tools needed for installation:

  • Standard or Metric sockets
  • Standard or Metric wrenches
  • Floor jack or vehicle lift
  • Jack stands
  • Level Work Surface
  • Pry Bar
  • Spring Compressor
  • Drill motor with a ¼ inch drill bit.

Rear Air Spring and Shock Removal InstructionsStep 1

  1. Turn off suspension switch. Switch is located under the dash on the passenger side at lower kick panel, see Fig 1.
  2. Raise vehicle to remove rear tires.
  3. Remove Retaining clip from air bag solenoid at the top of the bag, see Fig 2.
  4. Now remove the air solenoid from the bag by turning the solenoid a ¼ turn counterclockwise and pull back. You should here air pressure release if the bag is still pressurized. Now turn the solenoid ¼ turn more and pull-out from bag. Leave this solenoid attached to the wire harness and tie it to the frame using a zip tie.
  5. Remove upper air bag retaining clip, see Fig 3.
  6. Now take a pry bar or large screwdriver and pry up on the lower bag mounting pad to remove it from the leaf spring pin, see Fig 4.
  7. Remove air bag from vehicle, see Fig 5.
  8. Raise rear axle enough to remove rear shocks from vehicle. Now lower rear axle until it is held by the leaf springs

Rear Conversion Kit Installation InstructionsStep 2

  • Remove the bolt assembly from the upper locating puck supplied in the kit. Install bolt with large washer over the upper bracket and have the bolt come down through the hole, see Fig 6 & Fig 7.
  • Install the large puck over the bolt with the small shoulder on the puck facing up. Put the remaining washers and nut on the bolt and tighten, see Fig 8.
  • Install lower spring locating puck onto leaf spring pin, see Fig 9. You may need to remove rust buildup on the pin prior to installation.
  • Install a new spring large end up over the upper puck. Now pry down slightly on the leaf spring with a pry bar to allow the bottom of the coil spring to fit over the lower puck, see Fig 10 & Fig 11.
  • Spring should sit on lower puck as shown in Fig 12.
  • Raise rear axle a couple of inches to hold coil springs in place and install the new shocks that came with the kit.
  • Locate the ride height sensor just forward of the new coil spring.
  • Just above the top mount of the sensor is a wiring retaining clip remove the wire from the clip in Fig 13.
  • Drill a ¼ inch hole ¾ of an inch up from the bottom forward edge of the spring mounting bracket, see Fig 14.
  • Remove the height sensor from the lower mount on the suspension bar, see Fig 15.
  • Swing the sensor bottom rearward and up until it lines up with the hole you drilled, and zip tie the sensor mount to the bracket, see Fig 16 & Fig 17 (Do the same mounting of the sensor on the other side of the vehicle). The sensor should look like Fig 18 when finished.
  • Install rear wheels and lower vehicle.
