Why Choose Strutmasters Instead Of Those Other Guys
We are The Suspension Experts, and we know all the details about the assorted parts that make up the original air suspension system on the 86-90 Buick Electra. It can be expensive to bring the Electra into the dealership for multiple air suspension repairs and replacements, time and time again. We created this air to non-air suspension conversion kit specifically for the Electra to eliminate this dependency on the faulty original parts working in sync. This kit includes two shock absorbers, two coil springs and two completely pre-assembled coil-over struts that are installed easily. DIYers love that they can get it installed in as little as one hour per wheel, thanks to the detailed instruction manual. Save yourself time, frustration, and money by converting today. Leave air suspension troubles behind for good!
How Do I know If My Electra Air Suspension is failing?
If your 86-90 Buick Electra is no longer meeting and maintaining its proper ride height, it may have a failed or leaking air suspension system. Look for the following signs of a bad suspension system so you can properly diagnose your ride before total failure sets in. The most noticeable symptom is a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Electra. Typically the rear suspension will fail first, causing it to sag, while the front remains inflated. This gives the illusion the Electra is squatting down lower than it should. Some drivers notice a lean from side to side. Either way, if not fixed promptly, other components will wear out in turn. For example, the air compressor may have stopped working or may run too often (in this case, it will be very loud and noisy). Your suspicions may be correct if you notice an illuminated suspension warning light on the instrument panel. When your air suspension system has gone bad on your Electra, you have options- direct replacement at the dealer, replacement aftermarket parts, repair. But make sure you’re getting the highest quality at the best price possible.

Suspension Components List
The 1986-1990 Buick Electra is built with the following suspension components:
1986-1990 Buick Electra Electronic Struts (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. The 1986-1990 Buick Electra struts, while having coil-springs, use an electronic signal to stiffen or soften the dampening of the strut.
1986-1990 Buick Electra Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle..
1986-1990 Buick Electra Height Sensors (x2)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
1986-1990 Buick Electra Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
1986-1990 Buick Electra Control Module (x1)- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
1986-1990 Buick Electra Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
