Why Choose Strutmasters Instead Of Those Other Guys
The various components of the air suspension system must always function in sync. When one part stops working, the rest follow suit. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit permanently eliminates this reliance. Built for the Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight and manufactured in America, this kit comes with two custom-rated Eibach coil springs and two hydraulic fluid gas-charged struts for the rear of the vehicle. Say goodbye to faulty onboard compressors and level sensors forever. The kit is a direct replacement so no modifications are needed before it's installed. Customers appreciate that the kit can be installed in as little as one hour per wheel, thanks to detailed instructions and online installation videos. Strutmasters' ASE certified experts are happy to provide further assistance over the phone. The quality parts are guaranteed by Strutmasters' Lifetime Limited Warranty. But what seals the deal for most customers is the low price. The kit costs a fraction of the prices of dealership direct replacement and individual part replacement. It's no surprise the majority of Eighty-Eight owners make the switch from air to non-air suspension using this coilover conversion kit.
How Do I know If My Eighty-Eight 88 Air Suspension is failing?
If the 1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight is unable to reach and maintain the proper ride height then a failed or leaking air suspension system may be at fault. Look for these classic signs that indicate the suspension system is going bad, before it's too late and total failure sets in. A sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the vehicle is typical. Generally, the rear end will sag while the front end will remain inflated. This makes it look like the Eighty-Eight is “squatting down” in the rear. Other signs to look for include an illuminated suspension warning light on the dashboard and an improperly working air compressor. A bad suspension is likely if the air compressor runs too often or stops working altogether. A costly repair or replacement is necessary at this late stage.

Suspension Components ListThe 1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight is built with the following rear suspension components:
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Air Struts (x2) - struts that contain an air bladder whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module; they serve two purposes. These connect the wheel of a vehicle to the driving surface in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. They also help maintain the vehicles correct ride height, especially whenever the amount of load put onto the vehicle changes.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Coil Springs (x2) - what we love! Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Height Sensors (x2) - a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Air Lines - tubes that run from a compressor to the air which carry pressurized air to the air struts in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Compressor Assembly - creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Dryer - prevents moisture build-up inside of air suspension parts.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Suspension Control Module - a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
1992-1999 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight O-rings - Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Yes sir, I’m very happy with the performance of that product. Thanks again.
I purchased regular air struts about two months ago, not realizing that the suspension air compressor had went bad. So there went $300+ flushed down the toilet. Did some searching and found STRUTMASTERS and thats all it took and the problem was solved, not “Ever” having to worry about a expensive Air suspension kit again. My 99′ “Bonne” sits higher in the rear and handles better Thanks to STRUTMASTERS, I’d recommend them to any1 who has the same or equilvelent problems with your vehicle. I have pics of before & after but can’t post them, take my word purchase them and notice the time, money and headaches you’ll save getting them. Purchased in April 2011.
