Why Choose Strutmasters Instead Of Those Other Guys
The assorted components that make up the air and electronic suspension system on your Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 must always function in sync or the system stops working properly. These parts are expensive to repair at the dealer. As The Suspension Experts, we knew there had to be a better way when we found ourselves stranded and facing an unaffordable repair bill. We invented the fully assembled suspension conversion kit to eliminate the dependency on those complicated factory parts for good, getting us back on the road at a fraction of the cost. Each kit includes two passive rear shocks, two premium rear Eibach springs and two passive front shocks. The kit is an affordable, direct replacement solution that doesn't skimp on quality! These are the only kits on the market that feature premium Eibach coil springs designed just for your vehicle. The kit is installed easily in about one hour per wheel, saving lots of time. Frustration won't be an issue thanks to the helpful installation instructions and videos, plus our tech support team is available if you or your isntaller need them. Let's compare your three options and their price tags for repairing your failed suspension: Fixing the air suspension system and electronic shocks with Original Equipment parts at the GM dealership; installing aftermarket suspension replacement parts piece by piece; or getting rid of the active suspension headaches forever by installing a Strutmasters conversion kit.
How Do I know If My Avalanche 1500 Air Suspension is failing?
As with other vehicles that share this chassis platform -- like the Suburban and Tahoe -- the 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche has problems with weak sway bars, tie rod ends, and bushings. Most vehicle owners are unaware that these components should be inspected every 60k miles. You may also notice some other common signs of a failing air suspension system such as: an inability to maintain proper ride height, a warning light on the instrument panel, or a noisy compressor which may be running more often than normal. Often you will come out to your vehicle to find it sagging in the rear. These are clear indications that your air suspension has a leak and should be repaired soon to avoid total suspension failure.

Suspension Components List
The 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 is built with the following suspension components:
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Air/Magnetic Shocks (x4)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled electronically by the suspension control module.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Coil Springs (x2)- Steel coil springs help support the weight of the vehicle, but be careful! The factory coil springs are rated for and designed to work with the air shocks and electronic shocks. When you convert to passive shocks, you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new passive shocks.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the groundtorsion bar.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Shock Absorbers (x4)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle's correct ride height.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Good customer service. Darrell is a very nice sales person and product GC14F is excellent for my truck. Love how to ride and easy to install.
I was at a loss for how to improve the ride on my 2002 Suburban. I had recently replaced the front shocks and it still felt like a swishy boat going down bumpy roads. I was looking at $1400 to replace original rear shocks and didn’t really trust it would improve the ride that much. Did a Google search for an alternative solution and came across Strutmasters. Talked with Darrell (very good info and not pushy) and he was straight-up on how much improvement I would get. Couldn’t believe the price for parts was less than $500 for my vehicle.
I asked my mechanic if this was legit and if conversion was a common practice — he gave the thumbs up, so I took the plunge in desperation.
Received all the parts in 3 days and put it in the shop for conversion. This was Thursday before the Fourth of July when we were planning to leave on a 5.5 hour trip to South Texas. Wow! What a difference. What a sweet ride. I think it’s better than new. I would highly recommend Strutmasters to all Suburban owners.
“I have a 2005 Tahoe and just install my conversion kit. Awesome product!!! Everything went together as planed, took a total of two hours to install. Well worth the money. Thanks!!!!”
Great Service. Great Product. Made in the USA! This kit cannot be beat. Restored a safe ride and eliminated the expensive self leveling shocks! Easily installed with basic tools in a couple of hours. Great instructions. Highly recommend.
2000 Tahoe love the product. I bought front and rear shocks with coil springs. Rides like a new truck again..
