long-icon-questionWhy Choose Strutmasters?

Why choose the Conversion Kit over replacing the air suspension system on your 2000-2011 Suburban 2500 Deluxe?

The air suspension system on the Suburban 2500 is made of assorted parts and requires that each part function in sync. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit eliminates this dependency for good. The kit, manufactured in the USA, includes two rear KYB Monomax Monotube Shocks and two front KYB Monomax Monotube Shocks. These high-quality shocks are backed by Strutmasters' Lifetime Limited Warranty. Car enthusiasts appreciate that the kit can be installed in about one hour per wheel. Detailed instructions accompany each kit and installation videos are available to view online for extra help. Strutmasters' ASE certified technicians are on hand to answer any questions you may have. The kit saves customers time, frustration, and money, without sacrificing quality. A closer look at the cost difference between direct replacement at the dealer, individual aftermarket parts, and Strutmasters' conversion kit will highlight the notable savings.

long-icon-xIs Your Suspension Failing?

How do I know if my 2000-2011 Suburban 2500 Deluxe Air Suspension is failing?

If the 2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 is unable to reach and maintain its proper ride height, it may have a failed or leaking air suspension system. Early diagnosis of a bad suspension is the key to avoiding total failure. Look for a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Suburban. Typically the rear or front end will sag, which can make the Suburban appear to be “squatting” down lower than usual. There might be a slight lean from one side to the other. These imbalances can put a strain on the air compressor, causing it to wear out. If the compressor has stopped working or is running too often, the system is in jeopardy of total failure. Lastly, a suspension warning light on the instrument panel indicates advanced suspension failure. The vehicle can be fixed, at this point, with an expensive replacement or repair.

long-icon-gearVehicle Components

What kind of suspension does my 2000-2011 Suburban 2500 Deluxe have?

The 2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 is built with the following suspension components:

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Air/Electronic/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Coil Springs (x4)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Shock Absorber.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Height Sensors (x2)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.

2000-2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
