Why Choose Strutmasters Instead Of Those Other GuysThe air suspension system on the 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender is comprised of assorted parts that must always function together for the system to work properly. If one part stops working, the system is defunct. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit includes two cold-wound steel Eibach coil springs and two shocks for the rear. This is the only kit that includes genuine Eibach springs-generally regarded the best in the business. Made in the USA, the kit is easily installed in about one hour per wheel. Detailed instructions and installation videos available online help make the repair smooth, from beginning to end. Strutmasters employs ASE certified technicians who are happy to answer any and all suspension questions you may have. The excellent customer service is a bonus, but the low price of the kit is what convinces most of our customers to switch from an air to non-air suspension system. Review the following prices to see just how considerable the savings are: that of repairing the air suspension system at the Isuzu dealer, that of installing aftermarket air suspension parts on the Ascender individually, and that of getting rid of the problematic air ride forever by installing the Strutmasters suspension conversion kit.
How Do I know If My Ascender Air Suspension is failing? There are few signs to look for to tell if your Isuzu Ascender is suffering from a leaking or failed air suspension system. Look for these signs to help diagnose a bad suspension before it's too late and the system has failed completely. The most noticeable early sign is a sudden height difference between different sides of the Ascender. A sagging rear end is commonly seen, as is an inflated front end. Perhaps there is a slight lean from one side to the other. If the Ascender is unable to reach its proper ride height in any way, a bad suspension is likely to blame. Other vehicle components may wear out, too. The air compressor is susceptible to this. If it has stopped working or is running too often then this is further proof the suspension system needs a repair. Lastly, an illuminated suspension warning light on the instrument panel is an obvious red flag symptom.

Suspension Components ListThe 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender is built with the following suspension components: 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Air Springs (x2)- These springs use pressurized air, rather than a metal coil, to hold a vehicle up off of its wheels and help cushion the impact of the road. They are the most likely source of all air suspension leaks and generally start to fail at the same time. It is advisable to replace them all at once in order to properly repair an air suspension. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Struts (x2)- These struts are metal tubes filled with a hydraulic fluid that is charged with gas. They control the comfort of a vehicle by absorbing the impact of rough road surfaces. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Shock Absorbers (x2)- These absorb the force of the contact between the wheel and ground for the rear of the vehicle. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Height Sensors (x2)- These sensors can be found adjacent to each wheel of a vehicle. They monitor the height of the vehicle and send signals to the suspension control module that let it know whether or not height adjustments are needed. Like all moving parts, these sensors will eventually wear out and need replacing. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Air Lines- These tubes bring air from the compressor to the air springs, allowing them to inflate. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Solenoids (x2)- These plastic components connect the electrical connections and suspension component lines of a vehicle with an active suspension to the suspension control module. Their job is to regulate the air pressure of each air spring. As they age, solenoids start to leak causing the compressor to work harder to try and compensate. This extra work load will eventually cause early failure of the compressor if left untreated. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Compressor Assembly- Like all air compressors, the suspension's air compressor mechanically produces pressurized air and sends it to the components. Any leaks in the air suspension system will cause the compressor to work harder to try and keep the air springs inflated. As one of the most critical and complex components of the system, it is both difficult and expensive to service and/or replace. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Dryer- This dryer keeps moisture, which can seriously damage the suspension, out of the air suspension parts. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender Suspension Control Module- This little computer manages the operations of an active suspension and maintains its correct ride height. 2002-2008 Isuzu Ascender O-rings- These o-rings maintain the seal where the air lines all connect, making them critical to the system functioning properly. They should be replaced whenever the air suspension is serviced.

The air-ride system was going bad on my 06 Rainier. The compressor was good but the air-bag springs were leaking. I would come out in the morning or after work and it would be sitting very low. After starting car the bags would pump up (most of the time) and i dealt with it like this for quite some time. I decided to go with the springs after rationalizing that if i put new air springs on it, the compressor would be the next to go and then the $$ would just continue to go up. Overall ride seems quite good and certainly a nice change from waiting for the bags to pump up every time i start the car. Install was really easy. I am by no means a gear head but i did most of this work myself with the my bro-in-law supervising and assisting when needed. Right tools are the biggest need. If doing this yourself jackstands are a must as you need to keep the car up on them after you remove shocks and air-springs to let the rear suspension lower out of its ride position. Overall good economical fix.
“I thought you would like to learn about another success from installing your conversion kit!
This air suspension conversion kit finally eliminated the expensive and high maintenance Envoy factory air system. In less than an hour, this kit has returned the smooth factory ride (not to mention – no more low-rider, and no more noise from the air pump cycling on and off)!
First and foremost the Customer Service was extraordinary and extremely knowledgeable. When I received the product I was delightfully surprised of the quality. The cost was unheard of. It was so low. Once we received it took it to the vehicles dealership and they installed it for a fraction of what it would have cost. The cost would have been $1300.00 to have them install it elsewhere. Instead the total price was $529.00. I would tell any and all the quality and service was a “10”
