Is Your Suspension Failing? Ready to Order
How do I know if my 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Air Suspension is failing?
Although your 2003-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis has served you well over the years, you want to be able to recognize the signs of a failed or leaking air suspension system so that you can remedy the situation before it is too late. There are a couple common symptoms to look for that can help you diagnose if the air suspension is going bad, or if you are dealing with total failure. The clearest sign of failure is a major difference in the height from the front to the rear of the vehicle. Usually, the rear will sag (it will look like it’s squatting down in the rear end), while the front will remain inflated. Make sure to look for an illuminated suspension warning light on the instrument panel, and take it seriously if you see it there. Listen to the air suspension compressor. If it has stopped working or is running too long (longer than 15-20 seconds maximum), then it is likely you need some sort of air suspension repair or replacement. The longer you leave it, without getting it fixed, the more the other components will wear out too.

What kind of suspension does my 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car have?
The 2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car is built with the following suspension components:
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Air Springs (x2)- commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Rear Gas Shocks (x2)- This vehicle is equipped with 2 rear gas shocks. These shocks are what absorb the impact of the rear tires hitting the road and make the vehicle ride smoothly.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Solenoids (x4)- This vehicle is equipped with 4 solenoids. These plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module. The solenoids are responsible for regulating the air pressure in each air spring or air shock. Solenoids are a small piece of the suspension system but they play a big role in how well it functions. If a solenoid is not working properly, it will cause the vehicle to be unlevel and, in turn, cause the compressor to burn out.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Compressor- This vehicle is equipped with one air suspension compressor. The compressor is responsible for pumping up the air springs and shocks. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor is forced to run continuously to try and keep the air springs inflated. After a couple of days of running non-stop, the compressor will burn itself out. Replacing the compressor is a timely and expensive project to undertake.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Dryer Assembly- This vehicle is equipped with a dryer assembly. The dryer assembly is responsible for getting moisture out of the air lines. Once the air suspension parts start to leak, moisture will build up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension components from the inside out. The dryer must be replaced whenever the compressor is replaced to prevent further damage.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car Suspension Control Module- This vehicle is equipped with a suspension control module. This module is the brain of the suspension system and it reads all of the signals that are being sent by the height sensors and determines if the vehicle needs to be raised or lowered.
2003-2011 Lincoln Town Car O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Suspension Kits Reviews
Donielle was a lot of help determining that I would be better off using a suspension conversion rather than replacing air parts. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I just ordered the parts but I feel confident it will do just fine.
I ordered the appropriate set of springs and shocks for my Lincoln Town Car; the old air bag system quit on me, and I didn’t want to spend huge bucks on replacing that system…especially after I discovered Strutmasters!
Very pleased with your customer service. I called and ordered on a Sunday afternoon, and had the products by Wednesday…as promised!
I tackled the job myself, in my garage, last Saturday (Aug. 27), and as your literature said, it took me about an hour and a half per side. Your directions were complete and very helpful (enough detail, but not too much).
I did have one difficulty, however. I couldn’t lower the axle enough to fit the new springs, so I borrowed a set of spring compressors from a neighbor, and that solved my problem.
I especially appreciate the quality of your product: good brand-name springs and Gabriel shocks. After installing everything, I took the car for a test drive, and everything worked as it should. Couldn’t be happier! The price was excellent, I thought, and all-in-all it was a very good experience. I’d buy from you again, if I had the same problem with another vehicle.
Thank you so much for being a quality outfit!
We installed these in our Lincoln Town Car. Strutmasters does a great job helping. Everyone is great to deal with.
“Great inexpensive alternative for us.”
