Why Choose Strutmasters?
Why choose the Conversion Kit over replacing the air suspension system on your 2004-2010 Jaguar XJR?Strutmasters is proud to be called The Suspension Experts. We know how complicated the parts and electrical components that make up your 2004-2010 Jaguar JXR air suspension. They can break and be costly to repair. That’s why we created our air to non-air suspension conversion kits. Our customers tell us the main reason they make the “switch” from air to one of our non-air suspension conversion kits is the low price. The kit includes two pre-assembled complete front struts with premium Eibach springs and two pre-assembled complete rear struts with premium Eibach springs. Quality is the name, here. We are the ONLY kits on the market that include renowned Eibach springs. The kit is installed easily- in just about one hour per wheel, you will be good to go. We designed it with our DIYers in mind- our support materials that come with the kit will help you get installed in no time. This kit saves you money and also saves you time.
Is Your Suspension Failing?
How do I know if my 2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Air Suspension is failing? You love your 2004-2010 Jaguar XJR. You might be seeing some symptoms that indicate the air suspension is leaking or failed. You need to know what to look for so you can diagnose the situation accurately. Often, drivers notice a sagging rear or front, leaning to the left or right side, or perhaps the entire XJR looks like it’s squatting down too low to the ground. If one side seems more inflated than another, the suspension may be going bad. It’s important to get the situation addressed and fixed as soon as possible before all the major components begin to wear out. Check the air compressor. If there is a total failure of the suspension then the air compressor may no longer be working, or running too often (it will be very noisy). One obvious and universal sign is an illuminated suspension warning light or message on your instrument panel. If your XJR’s suspension is blown, it will not be able to consistently maintain its proper ride height. Your XJR will not be able to handle minor road conditions, and you should not take it on the road until you get a repair or replacement.
What kind of suspension does my 2004-2010 Jaguar XJR have?
The 2004-2010 Jaguar XJR is built with the following suspension components:
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Electronic Struts (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. The Cadillac Deville’s struts, while having coil-springs, use an electronic signal to stiffen or soften the dampening of the strut.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle shock absorbers.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Coil Springs (x2)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
2004-2010 Jaguar XJR O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
