Why Choose Strutmasters?
Why choose the Conversion Kit over replacing the air suspension system on your 2005-2009 Land Rover LR-3?The various components of the 2005-2009 Land Rover LR-3's suspension system must always work together. When one part stops working, the rest follow suit. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit eliminates this reliance for good. The kit comes complete with two pre-assembled front strut assemblies with Eibach springs and two pre-assembled rear strut assemblies with Eibach springs. The kit is installed in as little as one hour per wheel, and no modifications are needed. It's a direct replacement solution. Detailed instructions and online installation videos offer precise repair directions that are easy to follow. The quality parts are backed by Strutmasters' Lifetime Limited Warranty. Lastly, the cost of the kit is a fraction of the prices of direct replacement at the dealership and individual part replacement.
Is Your Suspension Failing?
How do I know if my 2005-2009 Land Rover LR-3 Air Suspension is failing? An improper ride height is a classic indicator that the air suspension system is failed or leaking. Look for these common signs of a bad suspension on the 2005-2009 Land Rover LR-3 before it's too late and total failure sets in. A sudden height variance between different sides of the LR-3 is a red flag. This may look like one sagging end, one inflated end, a shifting lean from side to side, or a “squatting down” appearance. Other common symptoms are an illuminated suspension warning light on the dashboard and an improperly working air compressor. A bad suspension will place extra strain on the air compressor, so it will eventually wear out. A Land Rover LR-3 owner will want any suspension issue fixed as soon as it presents itself to avoid a costly repair.
What kind of suspension does my 2005-2009 Land Rover LR-3 have?
The 2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 is built with the following suspension components:
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Air Struts (x4)- struts that contain an air bladder whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module; these have two functions. They connect the wheel of a vehicle to the driving surface in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. They also help maintain the vehicles correct ride height, especially whenever the amount of load put onto the vehicle changes.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Height Sensors (x4)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the ground.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
2005-2009 Range Rover LR-3 O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
