Why Choose Strutmasters?
Why choose the Conversion Kit over replacing the air suspension system on your 2005-2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?Up above on this page we compare three different prices: that of repairing your air suspension system directly at the Land Rover dealership, that of installing aftermarket air suspension parts on your Range Rover piece-by-piece, and that of getting rid of the faulty air ride headache forever by installing a brand new Strutmasters conversion kit for the rear air suspension in your 05-09 Range Rover Sport. You will see that the price of the last option is significantly less money- look at the savings! The cost difference between choosing an air vs non-air suspension system speaks for itself, but there are numerous reasons why customers love our kit. This kit, manufactured in America, was designed specifically for the 2005-2009 Range Rover Sport. It includes two pre-assembled front strut assemblies with quality Eibach springs and two pre-assembled rear strut assemblies with Eibach springs. The kit gets rid of the dependence on old, faulty electrical components to function in sync at all times. It saves money because you don’t need to take your Range Rover to the dealer for any more air suspension repair. It is installed in about one hour per wheel, saving you time. DIYers love the detailed instructions that virtually eliminate frustration. Read the positive customer reviews to hear firsthand just how convenient our air to non air suspension conversion kit is.
Is Your Suspension Failing?
How do I know if my 2005-2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Air Suspension is failing? There are common signs that can help you diagnose when the air suspension system on your 05-09 Range Rover Sport is going bad or leaking. You want to get this fixed before total failure sets in. A noticeable sign of a bad suspension is a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Range Rover Sport. Typically either the rear or front end is sagging while the opposite end is inflated. Sometimes the Sport might look like it’s squatting in the rear or hanging down too low to the ground. Maybe there is only a subtle lean from one side to the other. If left untreated, other components will wear out. Take the air compressor, for example. It may have stopped working or may run too often (will be very loud and noisy). One obvious red flag is an illuminated suspension warning light on the instrument panel. If any of these symptoms present themselves, you need to choose from certain repair options- aftermarket, dealer, direct replacement- but make sure to do thorough research. Not all options are equal.
What kind of suspension does my 2005-2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport have?
The 2005-2009 Range Rover Sport is built with the following suspension components:
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Air Struts (x4)- struts that contain an air bladder whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module; these have two functions. They connect the wheel of a vehicle to the driving surface in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. They also help maintain the vehicles correct ride height, especially whenever the amount of load put onto the vehicle changes.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Height Sensors (x4)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the ground.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle’s correct ride height.
2005-2009 Range Rover Sport O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
