How Do I know If My Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT Air Suspension is failing?
Your 2007-2013 Cadillac Escalade comes equipped with electronic air shocks which use multiple computer controlled devices to let the compressor know when to inflate the system and keep the vehicle level. Some Escalades have an optional upgrade of electronic stability control and rear air and electronic shocks, but owners find this is just an additional headache which adds to the list of possible electronic components that may need to be replaced. If this is the case you will likely need special equipment to diagnose the problem necessitating your mechanics help, adding to the bill. If you suspect a leak in one of the air components you can use a soapy water solution to inspect the air lines and shocks. Don’t be fooled, the lack of a warning light doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem. If your Escalade is unable to maintain its proper ride height or your compressor is running often, it is likely due to a leak somewhere in the system that should be repaired quickly before total suspension system failure occurs. Suspension Components List
The 2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade is built with the following suspension components:
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Air/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Coil Springs (x4)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the groundtorsion bar.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicleâs correct ride height.
2007-2012 Cadillac Escalade O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Best Product and price in the Market.
WOW! What a difference between the before and the after measurements and ride control of my large SUV. I was curious to see the difference with the new Strutmasters suspension and the existing suspension I had on our Cadillac Escalade ESV. I got out my tape measure and measured from the ground to the top of the wheel well on the front and rear tires. Before the conversion the distance for both the front and rear was 35 13/16″. After the conversion the distance was 37 12/16″. That is almost 2″ of lift. The ride is much more solid and without all the creaking noises from before. I’m very pleased in the product and no longer have a “check suspension” warning light on the dash. Thanks to Will Norris for his help in placing my order!
