Why Choose Strutmasters?
Why choose the Conversion Kit over replacing the air suspension system on your 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe?
The 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe air suspension system is made up of assorted parts that must each work in sync or the entire system stops working properly. This can be expensive to repair and replacement at the dealer is even more costly. Our air to non-air suspension conversion kit offers an affordable direct replacement alternative without sacrificing your ride quality. Our kit, for your Tahoe, includes one suspension control module which eliminates the warning light on your dash, two Eibach coil springs and shocks for the rear, and two pre-assembled front coilover struts with Eibach springs. You can easily install the kit yourself in only one hour per wheel with the help of our detailed installation instructions and ASE certified technical support. Donât take our word for it, read the experiences of other customers to see firsthand how our kit saves you time, frustration and money.
Is Your Suspension Failing?
How do I know if my 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Air Suspension is failing?
The 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe is known for having sway bar and bushing issues, which cause noises in the suspension and degraded handling. However, you may notice some other common signs of failed suspension components such as a suspension warning light on the dash, an inability for your Tahoe to maintain proper ride height (sagging or leaning), or a compressor that runs too often. If you’ve noticed any of these signs it’s likely your air suspension system has a leak in one of its delicate components. Typically when just one of the many parts of your suspension fails the others soon follow because they depend on each other to work together to function properly. A failing air suspension should be taken seriously and fixed as soon as possible to avoid unsafe conditions for you and your family.
What kind of suspension does my 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe have?
The 2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe is built with the following suspension components:
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Air/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Coil Springs (x4)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the groundtorsion bar.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicleâs correct ride height.
2007-2013 Chevrolet Tahoe O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
