Replaced Components
The 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator is built with the following suspension components: 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Air Springs (x2)- commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Rear Gas Shocks (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.; the air spring assembled on top of the strut is commonly referred to as an air strut. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Solenoids (x4)- This vehicle is equipped with 4 solenoids. These plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module. The solenoids are responsible for regulating the air pressure in each air spring or air shock. Solenoids are a small piece of the suspension system but they play a big role in how well it functions. If a solenoid is not working properly, it will cause the vehicle to be unlevel and, in turn, cause the compressor to burn out. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Compressor- This vehicle is equipped with one air suspension compressor. The compressor is responsible for pumping up the air springs and shocks. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor is forced to run continuously to try and keep the air springs inflated. After a couple of days of running non-stop, the compressor will burn itself out. Replacing the compressor is a timely and expensive project to undertake. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Dryer Assembly- This vehicle is equipped with a dryer assembly. The dryer assembly is responsible for getting moisture out of the air lines. Once the air suspension parts start to leak, moisture will build up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension components from the inside out. The dryer must be replaced whenever the compressor is replaced to prevent further damage. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator Suspension Control Module- This vehicle is equipped with a suspension control module. This module is the brain of the suspension system and it reads all of the signals that are being sent by the height sensors and determines if the vehicle needs to be raised or lowered. 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Suspension Failure Signs
There are a couple of common symptoms that appear in a 2007-2014 Lincoln Navigator when it has a failed or leaking air suspension system. You should know what to look for so that you can diagnose your Navigator if you suspect the suspension is bad or failing. One obvious sign of suspension failure is a difference in the ride height of the front and rear of the Navigator. Usually, the rear will sag first causing the front to look inflated. The overall appearance is that the Navigator is squatting down, low to the ground. Another sign your Navigator suspension is not working is an illuminated suspension warning light on the instrument cluster. If the Navigator air suspension compressor is running too long (longer than 15-20 seconds maximum) or not at all, you could have suspension total failure. Lastly, look at the rear air springs. If you can see visible cracks caused by dry rot, you will need to repair. Replacement can be cost prohibitive, especially on a Lincoln Navigator.

OEM Replacement Cost
'+ Air Springs ($520/air spring) + Solenoids ($125) + Air Shocks ($325/air shock) + Compressor and Dryer Assembly ($720) = TOTAL: Over $3,000 (and that doesn't include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).

Aftermarket Replacement Cost
'+ Front Air Strut Assemblies ($699.00/pair) + Rear Air Strut Assemblies ($769/pair) + Compressor ($200) + Dryer Assembly ($40.00) = TOTAL: Over $1,700 (and that still doesn't include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).
The factory air suspension on these vehicles is a marvel of technology, relying heavily on electronics and sensors to work. When the system begins to fail due to age and miles, it can be extremely expensive and time consuming to fix. That is why Strutmasters has developed a one-time, permanent solution to the problem. Our conversion system is a direct replacement for the factory air struts on these vehicles -- bolt off the original units and bolt the Strutmasters product right in their place! The product includes everything you need to convert the factory air suspension to a passive suspension -- plus it comes with a Lift Kit to provide additional vehicle clearance. A suspension warning light elimination module MAY be required on some models and it is NOT included in this product. Give us a call at 866-597-2397 and our Suspension Experts can help determine if a light elimination module is needed on your particular vehicle. Your Lincoln Navigator will be fixed and working in no time thanks to the helpful information and pictures in our installation instructions. Get extra advice from watching us perform actual suspension conversions on our YouTube channel videos. And if you need any more convincing, talk to one of our in-house technicians available to answer any of your suspension questions.
