Why Choose Strutmasters Instead Of Those Other Guys
We invented the air to non-air suspension conversion kit to save you time, frustration, and money without sacrificing your ride quality. As The Suspension Experts, we understand the air suspension system on your GM and how quickly it can become a major drain on your wallet, which is why we invented the air suspension conversion kit. Our kit is an affordable direct replacement and requires no modifications or special tools to be installed. This kit includes two passive rear shocks, two rear Eibach springs, two passive front shocks and detailed installation instructions so the kit is installed easily, in about one hour per wheel. Need additional assistance? Check the installation videos on our website or call our ASE certified technical support. The price difference between choosing an air vs. non-air suspension system is why many of our customers make the switch. You have three options when your SUV has a failed suspension: repairing the air suspension system at the GM dealer, installing aftermarket air parts on the Tahoe piece by piece, and getting rid of the air ride headache for good by installing a Strutmasters suspension conversion kit.
How Do I know If My 02-06 Avalanche 1500, 02-06 Escalade (Includes ESV & EXT), 00-06 Suburban 1500, 00-06 Tahoe, 00-06 Yukon 1500 & Yukon XL 1500 Air Suspension is failing?
2000-2006 GM full size SUV owners (Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche, and Escalades) commonly have issues with their compressor, sway bar and bushings. Hearing noises coming from your front suspension? Sounds like worn out sway bars and failed bushings. Did you know that these suspension components should be inspected every 60k miles and are often the causes of noises and poor handling? Have you noticed that your compressor seems to be running more often? It’s possible you have a bad relay unless your noticing your SUV is unable to maintain its proper ride height and may sag in the rear or lean. This is an indication that your air suspension system is leaking and your compressor is going bad. The longer you allow an air leak to persist the faster you will burn out your compressor and your wallet. Either way, you’ll want to get your vehicle looked at and any bad components replaced before you have total suspension failure. Often the case with air suspensions is that once one component goes bad others follow leading to multiple, expensive trips to the dealer. A bad suspension creates dangerous driving conditions for you and your family so it should not be taken lightly.

Suspension Components List
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Air/Magnetic Shocks (x4)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Coil Springs (x4)- Steel coil springs hold the vehicle up, but be careful! The factory coil springs are rated for and designed to work with the air and electronic shocks. When you convert air shocks and electronic shocks to passive shocks, you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new passive shocks.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the groundtorsion bar.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicleâs correct ride height.
2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
