Additional Suspension Information
What kind of suspension does my 2000-2002 Lincoln LS have? The 2000-2002 Lincoln LS is built with the following suspension components:
2000-2002 Lincoln LS Coil-over Struts (x4) - a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Coil springs are seated over the strut body and control the vehicles height.
How Do I Know If My Suspension Is Failing? The most common symptom of a leaking or failed air suspension is a sudden noticeable uneven height difference between different sides of the vehicle. The vehicle could have a sagging front or rear end, it could lean to the left side or right side, or the entire vehicle could be squatting down lower than normal. Other symptoms could include a suspension warning message or light in the instrument cluster, or the air compressor no longer working or running way too often (which would be very noisy and noticeable). The last major tip is your vehicle is no longer able to reach or maintain the proper ride height.

Suspension Kits Reviews
“I purchased the 4 Wheel conversion kit on 10/21/09 and had it installed on 10/27/09. I am extremely happy so far with the ease of installation and the performance. Although it doesn’t ride as well as it did in ’95 when I purchased it new it rides well enough. This is a whole lot better mentally than having to worry just what would go out next with the air suspension. Again I thank you for the quick shipment and the quality of your product.

My husband is unemployed and broke, he was a very happy man when he finish the job. Save us thousand of dollars and he is now worry free from air air suspension going bad. Thank you strutmaster
Thanks to you for your product and staff. I just completed installing the 4 coil-over strut conversions on my 2003 Navigator. Purchase was a breeze with you friendly folks on the other end. Installation was as easy as advertised and the ride is very comfortable. No more worrying about leaky airbags, long-running compressor, etc. Thanks again for developing such a good product and making it easy for a shade-tree guy like me to install.
“The side I didn’t start on, much to my wonder, still had some air in it, even though the switch had been off and the rear of the vehicle had been on the ground for five months. It was pushing the axle in the opposite direction. Once I jacked up both sides and removed the semi-inflated bag, I was able to succeed with the installation. Just in case that might be something to log for future reference.
Thanks so much for your prompt response, and I am THRILLED with the results!”
“i was very pleased with the conversion kit. i did like that it was made in usa. the ride i felt was much better. ive bought from strut masters before and i was very pleased with the service fast
shipping and high quality parts. i will definitely do business and recommend your company again!!
Couple of months ago had the 4wd suspension kit installed by Muffler Masters and they did an excellent job. The “new ride” is equal to or better than the original “air” on my 2004 Navigator which I had bought new. The front end has less roll in curves and cornering. Frankly, I’m very surprised at the results with this aftermarket unit. But it really is as good as advertised. The car has the same stance and height as original. I wasn’t going to fix the original. Could just see an endless hole with the likelyhood of continued replacement of parts over time. But with Strutmasters when its installed, its done! And you don’t have to worry about more problems…just worry about the cost of gas to run this “beast”. Get one. You won’t regret it. Larry Shive
Brad was very customer oriented and processed my order proficiently and the item was shipped right away. Unfortunately, now that the air suspension on my Town Car has been removed and these struts are on, the ride is much rougher, but I could have paid $1400 to have just one of the units replaced at AAA, but chose instead to have the struts installed, so I got what I paid for. I just don’t know about these things. Oh well.
Parts were shipped and arrived within a week. Only took my mechanic two hours to put the shocks and spring conversion kit on my 98 Lincoln. Car sure feels nice now!!! Would definitely recommend going with this company over the others. They may offer a cheaper product on the surface, but the endless horrid reviews speak for themselves. Go with Strutmaster, you won’t regret it!!
Ooops wish I would have read this before replacing the air shocks I would have taken a before picture. I appreciate your concern and your follow-up, it is so rare that a business concerns itself with a customer after the sale. I am very pleasantly surprised and I will enclose some pictures of the repaired vehicle in my driveway (the same driveway my car didn’t have the clearance to get out of). I tried 3 times unsuccessfully to leave my driveway for work, the vehicle was so low in the back the mud flaps had to be removed. Installation was very easy and I am very satisfied with price and performance of your product. I found your product on the internet while searching for options to repair. Kudos to your advertising department and another thumbs up to “you-tube” for having a step by step replacement video. On the road again, Doug
“Right now all I can say is, so far so good. The buying experience was easy once I decided what I wanted, and I had no issues with the buying experience.
