Additional Suspension Information

What kind of suspension does my 2000-2002 Lincoln LS have?

The 2000-2002 Lincoln LS is built with the following suspension components:

2000-2002 Lincoln LS Coil-over Struts (x4) - a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Coil springs are seated over the strut body and control the vehicles height.

How Do I Know If My Suspension Is Failing?

The most common symptom of a leaking or failed air suspension is a sudden noticeable uneven height difference between different sides of the vehicle. The vehicle could have a sagging front or rear end, it could lean to the left side or right side, or the entire vehicle could be squatting down lower than normal. Other symptoms could include a suspension warning message or light in the instrument cluster, or the air compressor no longer working or running way too often (which would be very noisy and noticeable). The last major tip is your vehicle is no longer able to reach or maintain the proper ride height.

“I purchased your strutmasters conversion kit from air ride to progressive springs and new gas shocks. My Expedition rides and handles better than when I bought it new.

Thanks Strutmasters!

The shop that I took the kit to were blown away with the ease of design and engineering. They had never heard of your company and said they would contact you to be a dealer. Here in Michigan we have some of the worst roads in the country. Thanks for a great product. My Expedition loves you guys.

The coil conversion kit on the lincoln continental simply put is horrible. The car bottoms out on the most mild of roads. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SUSPENSION TO ANY ONE. It is a waste of time and $700. They call it a fix when it is worse than a suspension on a taurus. I swear this company takes you for a ride. Making CHEAP suspensions, acting like it’s a sure thing and after your pay for it and put it in your car it’s JUNK!!! See if I ever buy from these guys again.

“I have a 2004 Lincoln Navigator in which the front ais suspension failed/malfunction so my gator was nose down for over a month. After my local mechanic referred me to Strutmaster and said they offer the best price, i figure i would go ahead and buy online. I shopped around and by far StrutMaster was the best price around town. Furthermore, my mechanic only charged me about $400 to replace my failed Air Suspension and install these new conversion kit.

All I can say is WOW, these new suspension are smooth and EVEN BETTER than the original air suspension. I quickly took it on the freeway and felt no bumps.

Highly reccommended for price and good quality. BTW: I ordered the Eibach product. Very nice work StrutMaster”

Strutmasters was my best find ever. I own a 2003 Lincoln Navigator, Great SUV, But the air ride is a problem we bought this suv in 2005 still had warranty left and we bought a extended warranty till 75000 miles in that time the air compressor went out 3 times, 2 times under warranty, this last time at 95000 ford wanted 499.00 plus labor for something that last about 18 months, then i found strutmaster there site and there sales staff, are very helpful even when i was installing them, i call my Sales man Anglo with one very simple problem, i felt stupid but Anglo was very helpful and walk me right through it, This SUV is my wife’s dream car She is so happy with ride and no more waiting for the air ride to air up, are those terrible rides home with no air. we are planing on keeping for many many years. I took Anglo advise and put them on e-bay and sold them used, also advised many buyers to you site, that could not buy them from me used, Thank You Again Strutmaster. a customer forever.

I ordered the complete conversion kit for 97, mark 8 lincoln continental. Not only did you guys send the parts right away, but I was very impressed with the quality of parts, the easy ability to switch it over, the hotline were the guys I spoke to were really knowledgeable, and gave me good advice. It could not have gone any better and I think you guys are an excellent sales team and company. I appreciate everything you have done for me and in the future if I need something for the car you carry I’m definitely getting a hold of you again, thanks.

I ordered the complete kit for my Lincoln Navigator. Havent installed it yet due to weather but the products are extremely heavy duty and high quality. The only recommendation I have for Strut Masters is possibly changing the color from red to black on the coil springs. Red stands out inside the fender well and on an all black vehicle, its slightly unsightly.
