Air suspension systems are notorious for being made of a wide variety of parts that need to function properly and in sync, at all times, for the suspension to continue working. We here at Strutmasters pride ourselves on being âThe Suspension Experts.â This is why we took it upon ourselves to come up with an affordable and high-quality solution to those pesky air suspension failures in your Ford Crown Victoria. We created an air to non-air conversion kit just for your vehicle. The kit includes four replacement shocks and two Eibach coil springs to delete the air bags in the rear end of the Crown Victoria. This kit is a direct replacement, so you donât need any modifications before it is installed. The parts are more reliable than the originals and we stand behind the kit with Strutmastersâ lifetime limited warranty. The kit is installed in about one hour per wheel, and the suspension warning light will turn off after about thirty minutes. We created the kit with our loyal DIYers in mind. Installation is easier than ever with our easy to follow instructions that include pictures and other helpful information. Our Strutmasters YouTube channel has videos of experts performing real installations so you can watch and pick up tips. How Do I know If My Crown Victoria Air Suspension is failing?
There are common signs that the air suspension in your 1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria is going bad or leaking. You will want to be aware of the signs so that you can properly diagnose a failed suspension before it is too late. You don’t want to be the person who walks into their garage one morning to see their Crown Victoria “slammed” down on the ground- that’s what can happen with a suspension total failure. The most common sign of a bad suspension is a sudden noticeable uneven height difference between different sides of the Crown Victoria. Usually, this looks like sagging in the rear while the front remains inflated. Sometimes there is a distinctive leaning from the left to the right side or vice versa. Most of the time a suspension warning light or message will illuminate on the instrument panel. Components such as the air compressor tend to wear out when a suspension has gone bad. Check on yours- is it still working? If it is, is it running too often (will be very loud and noisy)? Overall, always keep a watchful eye on the ride height of your Crown Victoria- when it can not reach and maintain the appropriate ride height, you know you have a suspension problem. A repair or replacement may be necessary.

Suspension Components List
The 1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria is built with the following suspension components:
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Air Springs (x2) - commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Shock Absorbers (x4) - has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Coil Springs (x2) - the front of the town car already has coil springs, thatâs why we not only offer replacements for weakened coil springs in the front, but our conversion kit puts the same, sturdy design on the rear of the vehicle.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Height Sensors (x2) - a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor to the air which carry pressurized air to the air bags in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Solenoids (x2) - usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Compressor Assembly- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Dryer- prevents moisture build-up inside of air suspension parts.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicleâs correct ride height.
1992-2002 Ford Crown Victoria O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Hello Chip; Very pleased with the coil kit .. ran it over some rough country roads ..nice smooth ride …. glad to get rid of that air ride. thanks again.
Appreciate all the help you gave me, the instructions. The hardest thing was getting the old ones out. New stuff went in really easily, rides like a brand new car, and I do appreciate it. If I do need any suspension parts I will be back.
We just received our shipment. Thanks! My husband and I are retired. We were looking at a $1300 repair bill for our car at a dealership. Thanks to the parts from you and a mechanic that is willing to install them, we are going to get it fixed Tuesday for less than $500.00! Yeah! The help that Dustin gave me over the phone plus the professional shipment and followup from your company, has made this a very good experience for us. Thanks again and I have already recommended your company to our friends.
I am very satisfied with the final result. Thanks again and good luck to you and Strutmasters.
Yes! the customer brought the car in yesterday & we installed the package, she & we are very happy!!!
“We put springs on our 91 town car that we got from you. We have just got back from the west coast by way of colo. and they handled to load and I could not tell the difference from the air ride. Thank you for a quality product, and the information to install them, A breeze.
I got a strut kit from you, springs and shocks. I really needed them because they had gone out on my car. Had a problem getting around and I called you and you got the parts to me within a couple of days, and you did a wonderful job, explaining a lot of things to me, helping me putting those parts on the vehice, I areally appreciate what you did.
“Thank you, everything went together well, as planned. I am sorry to say I forgot to take any pictures. I really meant to do that, because my airbags were completely shot! Thanks for a good product.
Phil Brewer (Teresa’s father).”
Here are some before/after pictures of the Lincoln that got the conversion shocks from your store. They were not professionally taken, but hope you will note the difference.
Thanks so much for the air to coil spring suspension conversion package for my 1996 Grand Marquis. This was my father’s last new car that I want to keep as long as possible. The local Ford dealership wanted over $1600.00 for replacement air suspension parts less shocks with no guarantee that more parts would not be needed. The Ford dealership would not even quote a job labor price @ $95 / hr. I had a local garage, Ultimate Auto at 50 Millennium Drive in Quispamsis, New Brunswick (506-849-6396) do the job. ($228.00) They had the Marquis converted in less than two and one half hours. I don’t have before pictures but suffice to say she was the lowest of the low riders with both rear air bags blown. The garage had to get creative to get the car on the hoist because of the collapsed rear suspension. I have attached pictures of the after condition. Feel free to use as you wish. I certainly would endorse the conversion. . Again – thanks for giving an aging car an affordable new suspension -and one by the way that rides better.
Just wanted to let you guys(and gals) know that I was EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the money that I spent with your company. You guys are truly professional, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND your company to ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Thank You!
