Replaced Components
The 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV is built with the following suspension components: 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Air Springs (x2)- commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time. 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Shock Absorber. 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Height Sensors (x2)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out. 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage. 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle's correct ride height.

Suspension Failure Signs
There are common signs that indicate a failed air suspension system on the 2002-2006 GMC Envoy XL & XUV. You want to properly diagnose a leaking or bad suspension before it is too late and all other components wear out. The most noticeable sign is a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Envoy. Usually either the rear or front end is sagging, while the opposite end remains inflated. There may be leaning from one side to the other. The Envoy can look like it is squatting down lower than it should be when the suspension stops working properly. If you see any indicators that the Envoy is not reaching and maintaining its appropriate ride height, you’ll need the air suspension fixed ASAP. Confirm a bad suspension by looking for an illuminated suspension warning light or message on the instrument panel. Lastly, listen to the air compressor to confirm if it is still working, and if it is running too often (will be very loud and noisy).
Our customers tell us they made the change over from the faulty air suspension system on their GMC Envoy XL & XUV to our air to non-air suspension conversion kits because the price is so low. But the parts are high quality, too. We offer the only kit on the market that uses cold-wound steel coil springs. We are the Suspension Experts, and we knew we could come up with a direct replacement solution that was affordable without sacrificing quality. This kit, for your Envoy, includes two pre-assembled complete front struts with springs, two rear springs, and two rear shock absorbers. DIYers love the kit because it is easily installed in about one hour per wheel. The suspension warning light turns off after about thirty minutes. This kit is getting rave reviews because it saves your valuable time and money.
