Replaced Components
2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Coil Springs (x2) - What we love! Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, the stock coil springs on this vehicle are rated for and designed to work specifically with the air suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Air Shock Absorbers (x2) - the air shocks are pumped up automatically to keep the vehicle level and to assist with the ride quality. These shocks contain a rubber bladder which is notorious for dry rotting, causing leaks in the shocks which inevitably leads to multiple failures in the air system. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Air/Electronic/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Height Sensors (x2) - a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Coil-over Struts (x2) - a type of shock, absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Coil-over struts have a coil spring seated at the top which controls the height of the vehicle. Over time, coil springs can become weakened and will need replacing. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor to the air which carry pressurized air to the air bags in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Solenoids (x2) - usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Compressor Assembly- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement air springs and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 Dryer- prevents moisture build-up inside of air suspension parts. 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Suspension Failure Signs
On the Infiniti QX56 the most common problem you are likely to see is a leaking rear air shock. A leak in an air shock puts a lot of strain on the compressor to compensate for the failing air shock and to keep your suspension inflated. This often causes the compressor to burn out and on the QX56 your suspension is reliant on the air shock for a safe ride due to weak springs and ride control used by Infiniti on the QX56. A failing air suspension may present itself as a sudden noticeable uneven height difference between the right and left sides of the vehicle or your Infiniti QX56 could have a sagging rear end. You may also notice a suspension warning message or light in the instrument cluster, or the air compressor no longer working or running way too often (which would be very noisy and noticeable). If your QX56 is no longer able to reach or maintain the proper ride height you will want to have your suspension inspected as soon as possible.

OEM Replacement Cost
'+ Bare Struts ($170/air shock) + Air Shocks ($150/air shock) + Compressor and Dryer Assembly ($410) + Coil Springs ($120/spring) + Spring Seats ($35/set of spring seats) + Upper Mounts ($27/set) + Dust Covers ($50/set) = Over $1600 (but that doesnt include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).

Aftermarket Replacement Cost
'+ Replacement Coil Over Struts + Compressor and Dryer Assembly + Air Shocks = Over $1200 (but that doesn't include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).
We have already seen the assortment of parts that construct the air suspension system. Our conversion kit gets rid of having to depend on all of those parts functioning correctly and in sync. This conversion kit consists of (2) Completely assembled front coil over strut assemblies, (2) premium rear shocks and (2) new rear coil springs. The conversion not only saves you time and frustration, it saves you lots of money. Now lets take a look at the cost difference between choosing an air vs. a non-air suspension system. Here, we are going to compare three prices: the price for repairing your air suspension system at the dealer, the price for installing aftermarket air suspension parts on your vehicle, and the price of getting rid of the faulty air ride heartache and installing a brand new coil spring suspension conversion kit.
