2015-2018 Mercedes-Benz C 350e Rear Suspension Conversion Kit Installation

  1. Steps 1 and 2: Place the vehicle on a lift or jack stands and remove the rear wheels.
  2. Step 3: Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the airline attached to the air spring. Let all the air escape before removing the airline.
  3. Step 4: Remove the two 10mm nuts retaining the fender liner. Pull the fender liner back to access the top shock bolts.
  4. Step 5: Disconnect the electrical connectors at the bottom of the strut. Push the tab on the connector in and pull out.
  5. Step 6: Remove the two mounting bolts at the top of the shock using an E14 socket or equivalent.
  6. Step 7: Remove the bottom shock bolt.
  7. Step 8: Pry down on the knuckle and remove the shock absorber.
  8. Step 9: Compress the air spring and release it from the lower control arm, then remove the air spring.
  9. Step 10: Compress your new spring using a spring compressor.
  10. Step 11: Acquire the bottom puck for the spring in your Strutmasters kit. Place the puck onto the lower control arm with the stepped circle facing up and the egg-shape step in the control arm.
  11. Step 12: Acquire the top puck for the spring in your Strutmasters kit and place it on top of the spring.
  12. Step 13: Use a pry bar to pry down on the knuckle and place the spring into position.
  13. Step 14: Remove the spring compressors from the spring.
  14. Step 15: Acquire your new shock absorber from the Strutmasters kit. Place the shock into position (the top mount has round indents that need to face towards the inside of the vehicle).
  15. Step 16: Insert the bottom shock bolt into the control arm and shock, then tighten the bolt down with the nut.
  16. Step 17: Place a jack under the control arm and raise it until the top shock mount reaches the mounting holes.
  17. Step 18: Insert the top shock mount bolts and tighten.
