2015-2021 Mercedes-Benz C400 Front Suspension Conversion Kit Installation

Video Transcript

  • Steps 1 and 2: Place the vehicle on a hoist or jack and remove the front wheels.
  • Step 3: Raise the hood and locate the two plastic covers covering the strut mounts. The driver's side cover will not be removed; it can be propped up to access the strut mounts and air line.
  • Step 4: Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the airline on the top of the strut. Let all the air escape and then remove the airline.
  • Step 5: Remove the top strut nuts.
  • Step 6: Disconnect the electrical connectors at the bottom of the strut. Push the tab on the connector in and pull out. Zip tie them up and out of the way.
  • Step 7: Remove the sway bar end link from the knuckle. Unfasten the 18mm nut, then pry down on the sway bar with a pry bar to release the end link from the knuckle.
  • Step 8: Remove the bottom strut bolt using a 21mm socket and 24mm wrench. You may have to lift up on the strut and push the knuckle down slightly to release the bolt.
  • Step 9: Pry down the knuckle and slide the bottom of the strut over the lower control arm towards the back of the vehicle. Then pull the strut down and out of the vehicle.
  • Step 10: Insert the new strut into the vehicle. Turn the knuckle to make this easier. Pry the knuckle down to get the bottom of the strut on the mounting point.
  • Step 11: Insert and tighten the bottom strut bolt.
  • Step 12: Place the sway bar back into position and tighten.
  • Step 13: Install the supplied nuts and washers into the top strut mount.
  • Step 14: Put the plastic covers back into place and lock the clips.
