Steps 1 and 2: Place the vehicle on a hoist or jack and remove the rear wheels.
Step 3: Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the air line on the top of the strut. Let all the air escape and then remove the air line.
Step 4: Remove the two 10mm nuts retaining the fender liner (closest to the shock absorber) so you can pull the fender liner back to access the top shock bolts.
Step 5: Disconnect the electrical connectors at the bottom of the strut. Push the tab on the connector in and pull out. Zip tie them up and out of the way.
Step 6: Remove the two mounting bolts at the top of the shock using an E14 socket or equivalent.
Step 7: Remove the bottom shock bolt.
Step 8: Pry down on the knuckle and remove the shock absorber.
Step 9: Remove the bottom of the air spring out of the control arm by compressing the spring, then remove the air spring from the vehicle.
Step 10: Compress your new spring using a spring compressor.
Step 11: Place the bottom puck into the lower control arm and the top puck into the spring. Use a pry bar to pry down the knuckle and place the new spring into position.
Step 12: Remove the spring compressors from the spring.
Step 13: Place the new shock in position, with the round indents on the top mount facing towards the inside of the vehicle.
Step 14: Place the bottom shock bolt in position and tighten with nut.
Step 15: Place a jack under the control arm and raise it until the top shock mount reaches the mounting holes.
Step 16: Insert the top shock mount bolts, tighten, and finish.
