Steps 1 and 2: Place the vehicle on a hoist or jack. Remove the front wheels and fender liners.
Step 3: Remove the headset from the rear seat, lift the front of the rear speaker up, and remove.
Step 4: Use an 8mm socket to unfasten the four bolts holding the speaker bracket in place and remove the bracket. (It is not necessary to unclip the electrical connectors.)
Step 5: Carefully cut out the foam panel under the speaker and remove the three top strut nuts using a 13mm socket. A magnetic stick may be helpful.
Step 6: Loosen the airline at the top of the strut, let all the air escape, then disconnect the airline.
Step 7: Unlock the electrical wire connected to the air strut. Remove it from any brackets and disconnect the connector inside the plastic box.
Step 8: Remove the bottom strut bolt from the knuckle.
Step 9: Push the bottom of the strut off of the knuckle and remove it from the vehicle. (You will need to remove the black filter housing on the right side of the vehicle. The filter can be reinstalled once the strut is removed.)
Step 10: Insert the new strut into the vehicle, lining the top studs up in the mounting holes first, then placing the bottom of the strut into position.
Step 11: Install and tighten the bottom strut bolt.
Step 12: Replace the fender liner.
Step 13: Install and tighten the top strut nuts. (A magnetic stick may be helpful.)
Step 14: Install the speaker bracket, tighten the bolts back in place, and snap the speaker cover back into position.
