The 1998-2004 Cadillac Seville is built with the following front suspension components:
1998-2004 Cadillac Seville Electronic Struts (x2)- a type of shock absorber; has metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. The Cadillac Sevilles struts, while having coil-springs, use an electronic signal to stiffen or soften the dampening of the strut.
1998-2004 Cadillac Seville Height Sensors (x2)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
1998-2004 Cadillac Seville Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicles correct ride height.
Suspension Failure Signs
If the 1998-2004 Cadillac Seville is unable to reach and maintain its proper ride height then it may be suffering from a failed or leaking air suspension system. Early detection of a bad suspension is the key to avoiding total failure, so look for these classic symptoms. A sudden height variance between different sides of the Seville is common. Typically, one end will sag while the other end is inflated. This may give the illusion the Seville is “squatting down” in the rear. There may be a shifting lean from side to side. These imbalances, if not fixed promptly, will wear out the air compressor. Once the air compressor has stopped working, a suspension warning light will illuminate on the dash.

In short, Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit saves Seville owners time, frustration, and money when the air suspension system goes bad. The kit eliminates the inefficient dependency on various parts always functioning in unison. The kit, made in America, comes complete with two pre-assembled front struts with springs and mounts, one electronic bypass to remove the service ride control message, and all necessary hardware. The kit is installed in as little as one hour per wheel, thanks to detailed instructions and online installation videos. If further help is needed, ASE certified experts offer technical support over the phone. The quality parts are guaranteed by Strutmasters' 1-year warranty. But what seals the deal for most Seville owners is the low price. The kit costs a fraction of the prices of dealership direct replacement and individual part replacement.
