Replaced Components
The 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 is built with the following suspension components: 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 Air Struts (x2)- struts that contain an air bladder whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module; these have two functions. They connect the wheel of a vehicle to the driving surface in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. They also help maintain the vehicle's correct ride height, especially whenever the amount of load put onto the vehicle changes. 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 Height Sensors (x2)- a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out. 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 Dryer Assembly- This vehicle is equipped with a dryer assembly. The dryer assembly is responsible for getting moisture out of the air lines. Once the air suspension parts start to leak, moisture will build up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension components from the inside out. The dryer must be replaced whenever the compressor is replaced to prevent further damage. 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 Suspension Control Module- This vehicle is equipped with a suspension control module. This module is the brain of the suspension system and it reads all of the signals that are being sent by the height sensors and determines if the vehicle needs to be raised or lowered. 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330 O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
Suspension Failure Signs
If the RX 330 is unable to reach and maintain the proper ride height, its air suspension system may be leaking or going bad. Early detection of a failed suspension system is critical to avoiding total failure. Look for a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the RX 330. A sagging rear or front end is commonly seen. An overly-inflated end is also obvious. Height imbalances will wear out the air compressor if they are not fixed promptly. If the compressor has already stopped working, a suspension warning light will turn on inside the vehicle. At this point, suspension failure is advanced and the RX 330 needs an expensive repair.
OEM Replacement Cost
'+ Air Struts ($799/strut)
+ Compressor and Dryer Assembly ($435)
= TOTAL: Over $3,630 (and that doesnt even include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).
Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit saves Lexus RX 330 owners time, frustration, and money. It gets rid of the expensive dependence on complicated electrical air parts, for good. Made in America, the kit comes complete with two pre-assembled front struts with premium springs and two pre-assembled rear struts with premium springs. The quality parts are backed by Strutmasters' 1-year warranty. Customers appreciate the detailed instructions and online installation videos, which help them get the kit installed in as little as one hour per wheel. If further assistance is needed, our ASE certified experts are always available to answer repair questions.
