Description
The 2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC 4-Wheel Air Suspension Conversion Kit With Suspension Warning Light Module (MK14FM) is the perfect solution to your air suspension problems. Designed to be very affordable, you can convert your air suspension to use passive shocks and coil springs for less than the price of replacing one original equipment air spring.
The various parts that comprise the air suspension system on the 2007-2012 GL450 4Matic must always function in unison. When one part stops working, the rest follow suit. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit eliminates this dependency for good. The kit, made in the USA, comes with two fully assembled front struts and premium steel coil springs with mounts and a suspension warning light elimination module. Detailed instructions and online installation videos help customers get the kit installed quickly.
These quality parts are backed by Strutmasters' Lifetime Limited Warranty. Strutmasters' ASE-certified experts are on-hand to answer any questions and concerns. And if that isn't enough, the price of the kit is considerably less than dealership replacement and individual aftermarket part replacement. Taking all of these factors into account, it becomes clear this coil over suspension conversion kit is the smartest choice.

Replaced Components
The2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATICis built with the following suspension components:
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Air Struts (models with Active Dampening Suspension) (x2) - shocks whose dampening capabilities are controlled by the suspension control module.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Coilover Struts (models without Active Dampening Suspension) (x2) - A type of shock absorber, it is a piece of metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. Coil springs fit around the top portion of the struts and hold the vehicle up, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Shock Absorbers (x2) - a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle.2
007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Air Springs (x2) -commonly referred to as air bags, a plastic and rubber bag that is fitted on top of the strut that uses pressurized air as a cushion instead of a metal coil spring to hold a vehicle off of the ground and off of its wheels. These are the number one cause of all air suspension leaks. All air springs all go bad at about the same rate. If one is leaking, the others will not be far behind. For a proper repair, all of them need to be replaced at the same time.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Height Sensors (x4) -a linkage located near each wheel of a vehicle with any electronic suspension that, either mechanically or electronically, constantly measures the height of the vehicle, and reports this information back to the control module so that the computer can identify if changes in height need to be adjusted accordingly. The ride height sensor is a moving part, and like all moving parts, they will eventually wear out.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Air Lines -tubes that run from a compressor to the air springs, which carry pressurized air to the air bags.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Solenoids (models with Active Dampening Suspension) (x4) -usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Compressor Assembly -creates/sends pressurized air to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC Suspension Control Module -a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicles correct ride height.
2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 4MATIC O-rings -although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
Suspension Failure Signs
If the 2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL450 is unable to meet and maintain its proper ride height, the air suspension system may be leaking or going bad. Look for the following signs that indicate a failed suspension before it's too late and total failure sets in. The most noticeable sign is a sudden height variance between different sides of the GL450. Look for a sagging rear end, an inflated front end, a shifting lean from one side to the other, or an overall, squatting appearance. These imbalances will wear out the air compressor if they aren't fixed promptly. If the air compressor has already ceased working, a suspension warning light will illuminate on the interior instrument cluster. To avoid this worst-case scenario, repair any suspension issue as soon as it presents itself.

Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 91 reviews.
Holy Cow! What a difference! My air suspension had completely collapsed for one reason or another, and even though I had the Mercedes computer that I could individually adjust the air suspension it was getting to be a huge pain. I absolutely hated the air suspension! It’s a great car - except for that. I decided to bite the bullet and convert it just so I wouldn’t have to worry about it and I wish I’d done it a lot sooner. I don’t have a ton of mechanical experience, but I’m pretty savvy with tools. In the garage, by myself, it took me about 12 hours, but that included some breaks and lunch. Don’t be fooled. It’s hard work - especially for a lazy old guy like me.
You can tell the product is very very high-quality. I haven’t wired in the defeat device yet, but it hasn’t been a big deal as I’ve just left the fuse out for the compressor. I’ll wire in the module later today.
Ride is just like I hoped: Normal. And no more messing around with the stupid air system. It’s like a new car again.
I would give it five stars but the instructions for the back seem to be missing half of everything I needed to do once I removed all the interior trim items. It’s like I was missing pages, but I wasn’t. It wasn’t a big deal. It’s easy to figure out, but I think the instructions actually could’ve been a little better for the second half of the rear suspension. I kind of think I figured out an easier way than the instructions implied, anyway.
Everything was shipped same day I ordered it and arrived exactly when it should have.
All in all, I’m very happy. I love it.
Thank you Ms Tammy and Thank you to the entire Strut Masters team...
They are totally legit and I will recommend Strut Masters to everyone that I come in contact with going forward.

Customer for Life...!
A permanent fix for the design flaws Mercedes factory air suspension which has been a persistent source of financial burden. The Strutmasters conversion kit upgrade has significantly improved the ride quality of my 2011 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Easy to install and high quality.
Strutmasters provided me with exceptional customer service that went above and beyond the Mercedes-Benz parts center.
Thank you Strutmasters.
I highly recommend your product and services.
I have had a very positive experience.
Installed for a customer's vehicle, customer is very happy and says they wish they did it sooner. Would definitely buy again, thank you from team Autosauce Auto Repair!
I purchased a strut conversion kit for my Mercedes from Strutmasters and the whole experience was flawless. The kit was complete, the instructions were clear, and the quality was top-notch. Everything fit perfectly and the ride has been excellent since the install. Tammy, the sales representative, was awesome—super helpful, knowledgeable, and made the process smooth from start to finish. Couldn’t be happier—this is exactly how buying aftermarket parts should be. Highly recommend Strutmasters to anyone looking for reliability and peace of mind.
Parts were direct bolt-on and worked as well like they are designed to.Would definitely buy this kit again if I run into another job.gl450 sits at normal ride height and rides smooth and comfortable like it should.
Delivery was super quick! Set up install with dealership, they ran into a slight issue, but Jeff at Strut masters called them and had it resolved in just a few minutes! Our ride is now smooth!
Delivery fast and accurate. Parts installed and working well. One question - do you provide any advice or input on recalibrating or clearing codes over the move from automatic to standard has been completed.
Love my GL450 Mercedes benz but the suspension blew out on me twice. I researched until I found a solution. StrutMasters customer service answered all my questions. So, I ordered the struts system with the module to turn off the light. Had it installed by a certified Mercedes benz mechanic. He did a great job. My vehicle is leveled and rides great. Thank you Strutmasters.
All pieces for a Mercedes conversion from electronic airshocks to standard shocks were included and nothing was missing. Shipping was very prompt. Thanks goes out to the manufacturing crew, the packaging crew, and the website creator for making this purchase easy.
My car needed new suspension and found out I could swap out the air suspension for regular suspension. So I saw a video on strut masters on the same exact model as mine and he was very happy so I ordered the swap and I am very happy I did. The car runs smooth.
I was hesitant at first to do the conversion but upon reading some of the reviews and doing my research I finally decided to go for it and everything fits very well and the ride feels the same as it was when it still have those air suspensions! No more worries from now on!
I had a local shop so the installation of the Strutmaster front and rear replacements. The ride is much nicer than before. No more issues with sagging or the bouncy ride.
Great product overall. Was missing the air malfunction module but was sent quickly after they asked me to send pictures of proof I didn't receive this item.
Car rides good
