Replaced Components
The 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche is built with the following suspension components: 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Air/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Coil Springs (x4)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the groundtorsion bar. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Dryer Assembly- used to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle's correct ride height. 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.

Suspension Failure Signs
There are common signs that your Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 will display if its air suspension system is going bad or leaking. Left unchecked, a failed air suspension system will cause other vehicle components to wear out. If your Avalanche is having trouble reaching and maintaining its appropriate ride height at all, look further for signs that can confirm a bad suspension. The most noticeable is a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Avalanche. Usually one end will be sagging while the other remains inflated (rear vs front). This can look like the rear end of the Avalanche is squatting down lower than usual. Sometimes there is only a slight lean from left to right, but this is still serious. If a suspension warning light is illuminated on the instrument panel, this is a red flag indicator a repair is needed. If the air compressor has stopped working or runs too often (very loud and noisy) then a replacement may be needed.

The great value is the main reason most folks choose Strutmasters.  We give you a pair of fully assembled front struts for this vehicle that includes all new components and saves you the labor time and expense of putting the units together yourself.   As The Suspension Experts, we knew there was a void in market for an affordable direct replacement alternative; especially one that didn't sacrifice quality. We design, assemble and ship all of our conversion systems from our family owned facility in North Carolina.  We make them in small batches to ensure the highest quality.  This kit, for your 2007-2013 Chevrolet Avalanche, includes two fully assembled front struts, a pair of Premium Steel Coil Springs and two matching shocks for the rear.  This product does NOT include a suspension warning light module (which is recommended) to remove a warning light that normally appears before or during the conversion.  Each kit is installed simply, in about one hour per wheel, saving you lots of time. DIYers love the helpful installation instructions that accompany the kit, it gets rid of any frustration with the project.
