The 2014 to 2016 Equus is the flagship model of South Korean automaker Hyundai and comes equipped from the factory with an active air suspension system. The factory air system has several expensive and complicated components that rely heavily on electronics to work. An onboard air compressor, which retails for upwards of $2800 alone, is used to fill air struts in the front of the vehicle and a pair of air springs and air shocks in the rear. The cost of original equipment replacement parts on this vehicle can easily exceed $7000 for a complete overhaul. The conversion kit was delivered in a timely manner and I cannot tell the difference from the original air shocks. The Hyundai dealer with the air shocks was $7000.00 and the the conversion kit from Strutmasters was only a fraction of the cost @ $1400.00. I would highly recommend this to other customers.

When my 2014 Hyundia Equus begun to have issues with its suspension system, I felt that the best thing to do was sell it and purchase another. I was told by friend that I should contact S&M to see just what they had to offer. The parts that were sent to me at first, did not work well when I contacted SM, they went to work and sent me another pair for the front end and I will tell anyone, this car now rides better than it did five years ago. Take it from me, I WHOLE-HARDLY RE-COMMEND THIS COMPANY. They are awesome at what they do.

I’m disappointed that I lost my air ride. It was one of the reasons I purchased the car to begin with. That said, I am very happy there was a kit available to delete it. Quite frankly this air system is complicated and was no longer worth the hassle. For the price this kit is a pretty good quality. The ride is noticeably stiffer than air, but much better than most sedans still. So I can’t complain. The directions are straight forward and easy to understand. Overall I am pleased with the kit!

Don't be afraid to DIY. The instructions were ok. I wish the pics were a bit clearer. I had the service manual for my Equus which helped. Make sure to disconnect the air to each air shock/spring before disassembling. The instructions cover that. I forgot to on one of the rears and got quite the surprise. I'm lucky my hands were out if the way. I took it to my shop for an alignment directly after and they said that is was not far out of alignment. A few weeks in I can report that some of the initial stiffness has subsided. You can't tell by my princess and the pea wife. She also reported and I can verify that the steering is 2 or 3 degrees off. Could be further break in or a mistake by the repair shop. I will return it for further alignment. The trouble light bypass harness was a little difficult to understand but I must have got it right. No idiot light. Overall a good experience and now I have the peace of mind of not dealing with 3 other air shocks failing down the line.

I bought replacement air struts for the front, only lasted 8 months, started making lots of rattling noise and started falling down again. These struts and springs, all four, took a couple hours to swap out in the garage. Should have done this the first time. Car has nice stance. Suspension is more sporty like. No issues so far. I have had the struts, shocks, springs and module installed for a couple of weeks. All in all I am satisfied. The ride height is perfect. The ride is a little stiffer but in my case I am happy about that. I have no ECS waring lights on with the installation of the light module. The ride height button is disabled which I understand. The drive mode also is disabled which I understand but wish I still had the features without the ride changes such as dash changes and shift point adjustments. I also have a Check BSD System warning which I hope is unrelated to the install but I am still working on this. One comment on the install. Overall it went very well and the instructions were very good. My one issue was with the front strut bottom saddle. The ends are slightly flared out to help with installation. This however caused the bolt to cross thread. To resolve this issue, I cut off the welded captive nut and used the OEM nut and bolt. This went very well and solved this issue. Overall I am very happy.
